I have a friend who recently sent me this information it really opened my eyes to what alcohol really does to my body it's rather disturbing.
The main reason you will not get to where you want to be from alcohol:
When it comes to fitness and you are trying to get a six pack/burn off fat..drinking will 100% postpone your results. When you drink your liver and kidney will completely stop burning fat to start clearing the alcohol out of your body because alcohol is a toxin. So, how this breaks down is if you were to consume six drinks your body will spend the next 24-48 hours trying to rid itself of the alcohol therefor shutting down the fat burning process. So if you are consuming alcoholic beverages multiple nights a week your body will never be in the fat burning mode. This is one of the main reasons people feel bloated and gain weight easily. Obviously, all of us like to go out and have a few drinks here and there which is fine we all know it will happen just do it moderation and not so often. Take Care of Your Body and it will Take Care of You! :)
